2nd OT-Med Progress Meeting was held on 27-28 November 2014 in Carry-le-Rouet.

Program

1st OT-Med Progress Meeting took place between 4 and 6 December 2013 at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence (program, report and pictures).

This year's meeting was a great success with more than 100 participants. Some of them are already involved in OT-Med projects and others came to learn more about our Labex and develop collaborations.

On the first day the work package (WP) leaders presented the most important results and future objectives of their WP. Several projects were presented within each WP by postdoctoral fellows, PhD students and project leaders.

The second day was devoted to discussions. We could evaluate strengths and weaknesses of OT-Med, as well as better define the priority research within each WP and identify some of the OT-Med's objectives for the next year. They will be taken into account during the next call for projects, which will be launched in December 2014.

There were two very interesting invited lectures of the OT-Med International Scientific Council members: R. Trigo and S. van der Leeuw.

Amélie Vergne, "Chargée de Mission Scientifique" from the French National Research Agency (ANR) reminded and clarified the procedures of evaluation of the Labex by ANR.

Moreover, OT-Med PhD students, postdocs and engineers had a separate session during which they could discuss their work in OT-Med and then communicate their conclusions to other participants.

The presence of almost all the experts from the International Scientific Council was crucial. They highly appreciated the progress of OT-Med since the last's year meeting. They also made some recommendations for the future.

We would like to thank those of you who participated in this meeting.

We hope to meet you next year.
