The OT-Med Progress meeting was held between 4 and 6 December 2013 at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence.

Programme

This meeting was a great success with around 80 participants. Some of them are already involved in OT-Med projects and others came to learn more about our Labex and develop collaborations.

The days were very busy and productive. A very important part of the meeting were the discussions in working groups (corresponding to each of the five work packages, WPs, and one working group concerning all work packages). These discussions enabled us to better define the priority research within each WP and identify some of the OT-Med's objectives for the next year. They will be taken into account during the next call for projects, which will be launched in January 2014 at the latest.

There were three very interesting invited lectures of the OT-Med International Scientific Council members: H. Ben Dhia, L. Legendre and D. Pantosti.

Amélie Vergne, "Chargée de Mission Scientifique" from the French National Research Agency (ANR) reminded and clarified the procedures of evaluation of the Labex by ANR.

Moreover, during this meeting OT-Med PhD students and postdocs presented their projects. There was also a seperate session during which they could discuss their work in OT-Med and then communicate their conclusions to other participants.

The presence of almost all the experts from the International Scientific Council was crucial. The meeting finished by their evaluation of our activities and recommendations for the future.

We came back from this meeting with a lot of wishes, plans and resolutions for the future. We plan to organise this kind of meeting every year in order to make sure that OT-Med progresses in the right direction. We hope to meet you next year.
