The need of a comprehensive understanding of environmental and socio-economic aspects involves the need for a better coordination of different disciplinary views concerning agricultural sustainability. This conference does not aim to provide an exhaustive collection of scientific disciplines, but to present a range of approaches with the goal to define common strategies for the identification of alternative pathways of development for Mediterranean agriculture.
